Mr
Clinton Kempster currently enrolled in the B.Sc.Dent (Hons) program working
with ARCPOH to look at Australian dentists attitudes towards and knowledge
of the legal clinical remit of dual qualified therapist-hygienists. Research
interests include the utilisation of the dental labour force, the evolution
of oral health care provision in Australia and abroad, barriers to accessing
health care and health care policy reform.
As an academic member of staff with the School of Dentistry, he
coordinates a workforce re-entry short course for dental therapists
who have been
away from clinical practice in excess of five years. This assists such
therapists in regaining their registration with the SA Dental Board.
He also
assists in the coordination and facilitation of first year General
Studies,
Dental & Health Science and Clinical Practice as well as second year
Dental& Health Science.
He is an executive member of the South Australian Dental Therapists
Association
and is active within a sub committee responsible for the review of
the Dental
Regulations (2007) of the SA Dental Act (2001).
