Introduction

This report examines the dental hygienist labourforce in Australia in 1996, presenting statistics on the number and characteristics of all practising dental hygienists in each State and Territory in that year. The report presents information on the practitioners' demographic characteristics, qualifications, area and type of practice, hours worked, and geographic region of main practice in that year.
